CROP UPDATE

Our season is now over!

Updated:  September 4, 2008:

Our season for picking is over and the farm is now closed.  Our season has been cut short due to the heavy amount of rain we had over the summer, which damaged our crops.  Apples will be in full production next season and we will be open on a regular schedule then.

What happened to our crop?

Due to the crazy amount of rain we had, the picking for raspberries was slow.  Excessive rain causes the raspberries to mold and the heavy rain knocked a lot of the ripe fruit to the ground.  The rain also damaged our tomatoes, most of which swelled and split before becoming ripe.  Being a certified organic farm we do not use fungicide, therefore we are at the mercy of the weather!  Hopefully next season will be better!

Thank you

A BIG thank you again to all of the people who came to visit us at the farm during strawberry & raspberry season this year.  It was a pleasure to see our returning customers and wonderful to meet so many new ones!  We hope you will all return to the farm in the future and "grow" with us as our farm and market develop.  In all of our years of farming we have never had the pleasure of serving such a friendly and grateful crowd.  Your comments and support are greatly appreciated!
